Post 2.. Why we eat what we eat...

Have you ever thought about what you eat and why?  Our food choices are based on several different things.. cultural background, social/special occasions, personal attitudes and preferences, media/social influences, individual needs and economic status.. to name a few.  Share with me why you eat what you eat.. cover at least 5 reasons (use the examples to guide you or come up with other reasons!)

  1. I eat what I eat mostly on availability. I either don't know how to make what I want or am too lazy so I'll eat whats around. So, thats reason one. Reason two is I load up on healthy food the weeks before my tennis season starts and continue to focus on protein and keeping my energy way up the whole season. Reason three is during the Christmas season (the day after Thanksgiving till December 26th) I love to eat roast ham and greens. Its just the perfect weather for that combo. A fourth reason is I get out of work late most nights and usually I don't have enough energy to make anything so I'll just heat up some frozen foods and boy do those taste gourmet at one in the morning. My fifth and final reason for eating the way I do is that I have a crazy junk food addiction, I've started to eat better these past few months but my one weakness is Lays sour cream and onion chips. They're my kryptonite.

    1. It is a good thing you load up on healthy foods before going onto a sport it will put nutrients in your that you will need to get through the tough season of your sport

    3. Good that you eat healthy food when you can. I definitely understand where your coming from when you have to work late nights and you dont have the energy to make anything. It's difficult finding something healthy to eat at last minute.

    4. dont worry about your sour cream and onion addiction! parkway has got them for you! But it is good that you also eat healthy food, it is important to get the vitamins and nutrients every day!

  2. The reason i eat is,
    1)The one reason i eat what i eat is because, i eat what is there for me, or what has been made for dinner..

    2) I eat egg noodles with butter because its an easy thing to make and its so quick to just boil the noodles and add butter.. its a quick and easy meal.

    3)Something else i like to eat is chicken Alfredo this is because i have learned how to make it and i have started to like it so much i could have it any day of the week or when ever i am in the mood just to make it and eat it..

    4) Another thing i like to eat is Ramon noodles but i make it a different way i break it up in the bag and put water in a bowel and microwave it and then add the packet of the seasoning and then i add more season so that's all you can taste..

    5) Also i like honey crisp apples the reason i like them so much is they only come out a certain time of the year and i wait so long for them and buy so much of them when they come out because of not having them for so long

  3. I eat turkey bacon in the morning with my breakfast because it taste yummy and its a lot healthier then regular bacon, I now don't even like bacon because I am so use to turkey bacon. Every Monday and Wednesday growing up my mom would make pasta and salad for dinner we would have macaroni sandwiches and meatballs, so good now that me and my whole family are trying new healthier things we use spaghetti squash instead of pasta. It taste close to pasta without all the calories and carbs in it. This way we still have our Italian food without having to worrying about our weight. Every Saturday night my mom makes caesar salad instead of having pizza or having something unhealthy its still really good and filling and now this way we won't feel guilty about eating ice cream for a late night snack.

  5. I never gave great thought on what I ate, I just eat what I want when I'm in the mood to have it. I grew up in a Italian family so you could imagine that i have the traditional pasta Sunday. As I grew up I opened my pallet to a lot more of unique things from different cultures. I eat a lot more of healthy foods now like fish, poultry, vegetables, grains, etc. My favorite dishes that I have grown to love is Chicken Riggies, Italian
    Greens, Chicken Salad, Burgers, Fish Fry, and Sushi. They have amazing tastes that make my taste buds dance with flavor! Those are definitely my top go to meals!

I never thought about what i ate. my parents told me it would affect me in the long run they were right because i usually ate pop tarts in the morning and usually wait till my mom and dad made something. one i eat what i eat is because its good and never really tried anything else. second reason i eat what i eat because its always available. the third reason is because my parents were working so basically ate whatever was left. fourth reason i eat what i do is because its really good i love poptarts steak macaroni clam crab meat and some veggies. fifth reason is because i dont care we all die sooner or later no matter what.

  7. I never really thought about what i eat. I mostly just eat what i want to or whatever is available to me. I'm constantly eating pasta dishes and chicken wings. When i can't decide what I want to eat those are my go to foods. I'm very picky and most of the time i can't decide what i want to eat unless i have a craving for something. When i go out to eat i mostly order pasta. Chicken riggies and mac & cheese are my favorite pasta dishes. Chicken wings are my favorite when they are extra crispy and have a lot of sauce. Something else that has grown on me is Kale soup with a mixture of rice, beans, chicken, and vegetables. It’s very healthy for you and my favorite dish that my grandpa makes! A chicken caesar wrap is also one of my favorites! It is very healthy for you and I love the flavor especially if the dressing is homemade. Over the summer almost all I would eat was dry Cheerios. I didn’t have much of an appetite and throughout the day that’s all I would eat. I probably should focus on what I eat more than I do now and make healthier choices!

  8. I mainly like to stay in between healthy foods but also filling foods. I eat what i eat based on how i feel or what im craving, first off. My second reason i eat what i eat and want is because i have no choice but to keep my body healthy and continuing to feel good through out the day. My third reasoning i eat what i eat is based on time also. For example, if im getting home from school around 3:30 and need to make something fast before work i will usually put fries in the oven that take 10 minutes or make processed soup before 5:00, when i have to leave for work. The fourth reason is because being healthy and eating the right food will make you and your appearence worth looking at and you will feel much better, like for example, eating fruits daily and protein will make you feel alot better then eating junk food and feeling lazy. My last reason i eat what i eat is because, fruit and protein and sometimes alittle junk food, no matter what your eating, makes you happy.

Not very often do i think of what i eat, but most of the time the reason i eat what I eat is based on availability. 1st reason is during soccer season i try to stick to healthy food as much as i can, I tend to eat a lot of baby spinach and chicken during soccer season. 2nd reason is during school lunch i don't eat as healthy as I should, the reason for that is we don't really have a great amount of time to eat so I have to pick some of the closest food places to school are McDonald or different pizza places. 3rd reason for eating what i eat depends on how i feel, if i don't feel good i tend to eat lighter foods or drink a lot of liquids. The 4th reason is since im not a picky eater and will eat anything i will usually eat what ever is easiest to find even though it might not be the healthiest. 5th reason for eating what I eat is because i run a lot so sometimes i eat a lot of carbs like pasta or sweet potatoes a couple hours before I run.

  10. I normally try to think to be healthy about what I eat, but I normally eat what I eat based on availability. One reason is after school I may go straight to work so when i come home from work I'm usually starving and just want the quickest meal. Also I eat what I eat due to what my mom makes which she usually makes healthy meals and meals based on our family background. Another reason is my mood affects what I eat if I'm energetic I'm more likely to eat healthier than if I was in a bad or lazy mood. Also if I'm seeing my dad I'm more likely to go out and eat with him so that is another reason why I eat what i eat. Lastly I eat what I eat because I usually eat what I'm in the mood for so it changes daily especially during lunch.
